Alessia Concetta Marzo
Alessia Marzo is an Environmental Engineering, PhD in Agricultural Engineering and and a researcher in the AGR/08 (Agricultural hydraulics and watershed protection) sector at the Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment - Univesity of Catania, where she has been carrying out her research activities since 2010 focusing on wastewater natural treatments (constructed wetlands, wastewater reservoirs and lagoons) and Geographical information System (GIS). She is involved to prepare and carry out many national and international research projects. In 2017 she obtained the national scientific qualification for the position of associate professor for the scientific sector 07/C1 (Agricultural, forestry and biosystems engineering).

Alessia Marzo has more than 15 years of experience in planning, designing and monitoring constructed wetlands for wastewater treatment. Her scientific activity is mainly focused on hydraulic proprieties of constructed wetlands, the use of constructed wetland for pollution control and for wastewater reuse in agriculture.
