– From July 2002 to June 2005 had a research grant at the Department of Horticulture and Food Technology (Catania University) with a research on “Cultivation on soilless systems in horticulture”.
– From July to November 2003 obtained a fellowship from the University of Catania at Wageningen University.
– From January 2007 to May 2008 researcher at the Department of Horticulture and Food Technology (Catania University) with a research on “Innovative methods for greenhouse cultivation”.
– Since 2008 to 2014 researcher in vegetable and floriculture at the University of Catania.
– Since November 2014 professor in vegetable and floriculture at the University of Catania.
– From November 2012 to March 2013 visiting researcher at Lancaster Environment Centre (Lancaster University - United Kingdom).
– Member of the “International Society for Horticultural Science” (ISHS).
– Referee of scientific papers published on HortScience, Scientia Horticulturae, Acta Agriculturae Scandinavica, Italus Hortus, Advances in Horticultural Science, Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, Scientific Journal UDO Agricola, Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry, Separation and Purification Technology, Journal of Horticultural Science & Biotechnology, African Journal of Agricultural Research, Acta Horticulturae.
