Alessandro Scuderi Matarazzo
Alessandro Scuderi Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics and Policy, has been a research assistant and a fixed-term researcher, today teaches in the University of Catania. During his scientific career he has dealt with issues related to the economy and agricultural policy and specifically has specialized on sustainability, production systems and innovations in process and product. He has published 145 scientific papers in national and international journals as well as participating at the international level in the main conferences on food production. process and product innovations and spatial planning.
Alessandro Scuderi is Professor for 2023/24 for "Economics of agrifood". Since 2004 he has held numerous university teaching positions (Rural Sociology, Economics of agri-food enterprises, Economics applied to engineering, etc.). PhD in Agricultural Economics and Policy (1999) XI cycle - University of Catania specializing in: "The quality of fruit and vegetable production for Sicilian packaging companies". In 2001 he obtained a Master's degree in "Marketing of agricultural and food products - University of Parma. He has been a lover of the subject "Rural Economy and Estimo Rural" since 2002. He has been a member of the Italian Society of Agricultural Economics (SIDEA) since 2003. He has been a member of the Italian Society of Agricultural and Food Economics (SIEA) since 2005. He has been a member of the Italian LCA Network since 2017. He was awarded a CNR scholarship in 2001, Research Fellow from 2001 to 2006, Research Fellow from 2007 to 2009, Temporary Researcher from 2009 to 2011 pursuant to D.R. 29/04/1999. He was President of the Consortium for the protection of RED ORANGE OF SICILY PGI from 2002 to 2014. He was a member of the technical table of CDO-Agroalimentare from 2013 to 2017. He was vice-president of CLAM (Interest Group of the Citrus Producers Countries of the Mediterranean Basin). He has been consultant of CORERAS, of the Science and Technology Park of Sicily as well as of public and private institutions and companies. In the course of his scientific career he has dealt with issues related to economics and agricultural policy and specifically he has specialized on sustainability, production systems and process and product innovations. He has published 121 scientific papers in national and international journals as well as participating at international level in the main conferences on agri-food production.
