Antonio Natalello is a Researcher (art. 24 c.3-a L. 240/10) at the Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment of the University of Catania, within the AGRI-09/C "Special Zootechnics" scientific-disciplinary sector.

In 2013, he obtained a bachelor degree in Agricultural Science and Technology (L25) at the University of Catania with 110/110 cum laude. In the same year he enrolled in the Master's Degree Course in Agricultural Science and Technology (LM69) of the University of Catania. During this course, winning a scholarship, he participated in the European Union program ERASMUS+ and spent a study period of 5 months (from February to June 2015) at the "Czech University of Life Sciences" in Prague (Czech Republic ). In July 2015, he obtained the Master's degree with the final graduation mark of 110/110 cum laude.

From 2016 to 2019, he attended the international PhD course in "Agricultural, Food and Environmental (cycle XXXII)" at the Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment (Di3A) of the University of Catania. As a visiting PhD student, he spent a total period of 10 months in three different European research institutions: University College Dublin (Dublin, Ireland), Spanish National Research Council (Leon, Spain) and University of Reading (Reading, United Kingdom). In February 2020, he obtained the title of International PhD by defending the thesis entitled "Pomegranate by-products as ruminant feeds: Effects on meat quality".

In February 2020, he got a post-doctoral research fellow position at the Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment (Di3A) within the European project "ProYoungStock" (Horizon 2020 ERA-Net project CORE Organic Cofund). From February 2021 to December 2021 he worked as a post-doctoral research fellow at the Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment (Di3A) within the international project "JESMED" (ENI ITALIA - TUNISIA cross-border cooperation program) .

In February 2021, he received the title of Expert of the Subject for the teachings of the disciplinary scientific sector AGR/19 - Special zootechnics. Currently, he is Tutor and Co-tutor of two students of the international doctoral course in “Agricultural, Food and Environmental Science”, at the Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment (Di3A).

He served as Guest/Topic Editor of  4 "Special Issue/Research Topic" of the international Journal: "Small Ruminant Reserach", "Fronteirs in Veterinary Science" e "Animals". He is a referee for the most prestigious scientific journals in the livestock sector: "Meat Science", "Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology", "Animal Feed Science and Technology", "Animal", "Italian Journal of Animal Science", "Small Ruminant Research", "Animals", "Foods", "Agriculture"," Antioxidants", "Frontiers in Nutrition", and "Scientfic Reports".

He serves as Associate Editor for several high-impact international scientific journals: Frontiers in Animal Science, Open Agriculture (De Gruyter) and Agriculture (MDPI).
