BIOCHEMISTRY OF PLANT SECONDARY METABOLISM
Academic Year 2021/2022 - 1° YearCredit Value: 8
Course Language: Italian
Taught classes: 42 hours
Exercise: 28 hours
Term / Semester: 1°
Learning Objectives
To provide knowledge about the secondary metabolism in plants and its importance in the physiological regulation. Providing specific knowledge in biochemistry applied to the study of plant response to hormones, biotic and abiotic stresses. Provide knowledge on the possible pharmacological and/or nutritional use of secondary metabolites.
Course Structure
The course includes 42 hours of frontal (or remote) traditional lecture and 28 hours of classroom or remote exercises through exposure and debates among students on research, case studies or topics by power point presentation.
As a guarantee of equal opportunities and in compliance with current laws, interested students can ask for a personal interview in order to plan any compensatory and/or dispensatory measures, based on their specific needs and on teaching objectives of the discipline.
It is also possible to ask the departmental contacts of CInAP (Center for Active and Participatory Integration - Services for Disabilities and/or DSAs), in the persons of professors Giovanna Tropea Garzia and Anna De Angelis.
