- Control of seed dormance and improvement of germination under suboptimal conditions by seed osmopriming.
- Ecophysiological response of different crops to environmental stresses.
- Relationships between environmental conditions and crop responses.
- Crop management of protected cultivation of vegetables in mild winter climate.
- Irrigation, fertilisation, weed control, crop management, applications of plant growth regulators in Mediterranean crops with main regard to globe artichoke, early potato and legumes.
- Functional substances in globe artichoke
- Genetic and imbreeding aspects on globe artichoke
- Soil solarization and control of Orobanche spp.
- Possible alternative utilization of Cynara Cardunculus L.
- Propagation by send and by vegetative organs of globe artichoke
- Role of cover crops in agroecosystems.
- Utilization of allelopathic mechanism for weed and microbial control
He is author of almost 400 scientific papers on bio-physiological, genetic and agronomical topics of crops, particularly for those grown in the Mediterranean areas.
